Unique Military Figures
These figures are carved from basswood. They are first primed, then colored with bole, and finally gilded. All my sculptures are uniquely created, each one cut by hand from a single block of wood.
This knight is about 1 foot tall and is mounted on a wooden pedestal.
This figure depicts an English Crusader from the 13th century. The armor is gilded. The ornaments on the frock are blotted out by hand. The colored parts are hand-painted, mimicking realistic light effects (glare and shadow).
This Saracen figure, representing a saracen knight from the 13th century, is also carved from basswood. It is characterized by the fine surfacing of the coat and armor.
This hand-carved knight represents the historic figure of a Teutonic Knight from the thirteenth century. The chain mail and all other metal details are gilded with white gold that has been varnished and patinated. Special care has been given to the painting of the face and the hands.
